Bangkok Itinerary

by - 9:22 AM

I want to share my itinerary from my last trip to Bangkok on June, I think it's kinda similar to another first timer tourist to Bangkok :P.

It just an overview of our trip, so it'll be short.

Day 1

We arrived on Suvarnabhumi Airport in the afternoon, and quickly found restaurant to have lunch. We visited Lee Restaurant in the airport, as usual airport dining is more expensive. I have to pay 90 Baht for Ice Thai tea when I just paid 15 - 25 Baht in another place *silly right?* but who cares? we were too hungry :(

On our first day, we visited Jim Thompson House Museum, Victory Monument, and sightseeing in Siam Mall Complex.

Day 2

After bought some postcards and sent it to family and friends, I went to Grand Palace complex with Chaopraya water taxi, some friends suggested us to use Taxi to avoid a scam near the entrance of the palace, but since we were too curious with Chaopraya river so we tried it first. Fortunately we didnt find any scammer that day. Fyi, at that time the entrance ticket to this complex was 500 Baht, including some places outside Grand Palace complex, unfortunately we didn't go to those places. Inside the Grand Palace complex we also visited Jewelry Museum and Queen Sirikit Textiles Museum. We also visited Wat Po that located behind the Grand Palace complex, visitors need to pay 100 Baht.
Since it was weekend in the noon we were planning to visit Cathuchak weekend market to buy some souvenirs.

Day 3

After a long discussion with friends, we finally rented a taxi to go to Pattaya. We only have one full day to visit Pattaya, so I think rent a taxi is a great decision so we can visit places in Pattaya without getting lost or found any difficulties to seek for local transportation.
On our third day we visited Mini Siam, Nong Nooch Garden, and Royal Garden Plaza. We were passed by Alcazar show, it started 6:30 PM and we can't watch the show because we need to go back to Bangkok in the night.

Day 4

It was mall hopping time :) . First we visited Siam Discovery center to came to Madame Tussaud, then continue to Siam center and Siam Paragon. In the noon we had our lunch in Platinum Plaza. Platinum is kinda wholesale market, if you want to buy some souvenirs (clothes and accessories) for family&friends, make sure you bring a big hand bag or trolley bag. I think there are many online shops in Indonesia that supplies their shop from this place. After re-packed our bag, we back to airport using Airport rail link from Phaya Thai. With a big smile, fresh mind and heavy bags we walked through boarding room, wait for the aircraft and flew back to Jakarta.
